It’s contest time!

So – who wants to be a character in my next book?

Yep – it’s that time again. I had so much fun doing this for book 2, I decided to do it again for book 4. Here is Theresa, with her experience as one of the winners from the first round:

I had already read the previously published book to The Claire Wiche Chronicles when Cate shared the news she was holding the character contest. Considering I had been checking her website every few weeks waiting for the next release, I was thrilled to possibly be a character! When Cate e-mailed me and told me I was a winner, I think I actually screamed.

She sent me a form asking questions about me, my life, my appearance and any special personality traits I have that I wouldn’t mind being part of my written character. It was really cool because I could tell she wanted the character to be as accurate as possible.

After I filled that out, all I had to do was wait. Her book released and I was one of the first to buy it. I didn’t realize how much I missed Claire and Annie until I spent time with them again, and Eric and Marcus were of course two heart throbs I was excited to read again. Then, Theresa came in and I was elated to see how much like me the character really was! Cate did a fantastic job at capturing my personality. I couldn’t have asked for a better depiction.

If Cate has any other contests like this I’ll be signing up again. It was so much fun, and since then I have gotten the chance to talk to Cate through her website and social media. She is as much of an amazing person as she is a talented writer. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.

Not only did she appear in book 2, she has become a recurring character – she was in book 3, and will make another appearance in book 4, along with my other winner, Mindy.
